Joey's Horse . . .the Perfect Medicine
In 1993, at age 9 1/2, Joey was diagnosed with leukemia. He had a dream to have a horse of his very own. In November of that year, the Make-A-Wish Foundation made that dream come true and Joey was introduced his horse, Babe. His wish was the 1,435th wish granted by the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater PA and Southern WV, and Joey's volunteers were sure to make sure he was outfitted in style with a saddle, duster and genuine cowboy hat.
Fast forward to the present where Joey graduated from Penn State with a degree in microbiology and just completed his second year at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. His intention is to work with oncology patients.
Enjoy some other photos of Joey as he's grown up to become a remarkable young man. . .
