Schuylkill IU Students Bunny Hop for Wishes
On the morning of March 30, students that attend the Schuylkill IU #29, Maple Avenue, arrived in the
gymnasium very anxious to participate in the "Bunny Hoppin' for Wishes" event. They practiced doing the bunny hop for weeks and were prepared to play additional games as part of the celebration. The students, faculty and staff gathered in the gymnasium and everyone did the bunny hop. Some of the additional games included Pass the Marshmallow Peeps, an egg balance activity, relay races to build an Easter basket full of goodies and a wooden egg toss to see who could get their egg in the big Easter Basket in the middle of the gymnasium.
This is the first time that the Schuylkill IU conducted a "Bunny Hoppin' for Wishes" fundraiser to benefit the local Pottsville Office. Their goal was to grant one wish by raising at least $3,400. They exceeded that goal and were so excited to present the $4,100 donation to the Foundation. The faculty also assisted the children so that everyone could participate in all of the games and races. At the conclusion of the day, every student was awarded a prize.
Thank you to all the students, faculty and staff for helping to make a wish come true. For more photos of the event, please click here.
Spot Says… Wishes make a difference - more than 82% of our wish kids are still alive today. That says a lot about the power of medicine and the magic of Make-A-Wish.
