World Wish Day was the 30th anniversary of the creation of the Make-A-Wish Foundation®. Every Make-A-Wish® chapter in the world granted at least one wish in honor of the day when a wish sparked a global wish-granting movement. The Greater Pennsylvania and Southern West Virginia chapter granted the wishes of Alexandria of Smithers, W.Va., and Veronica of Erie, Pa., who were a part of a monumental celebration when their wish to meet teen singing and acting sensation Miley Cyruscame true yesterday in Los Angeles.

Five-year-old Alexandria and 12-year-old Veronica met Cyrus yesterday along with 28 other wish kids at The Grove, a popular entertainment, dining and shopping district. Their wish experience included a private meet-and-greet with the star of Disney Channel's Hannah Montana and motion picture The Last Song, plus the chance to enjoy a special World Wish Day celebration featuring Cyrus.

"I'm so excited to help the Make-A-Wish Foundation celebrate World Wish Day and give these thirty brave kids an incredible wish experience I hope they'll never forget," Cyrus said. "It's a privilege for me to make their wishes come true and get my good on in such a heartfelt way."

You can share the power of a wish® on World Wish Day - refer your child, make a donation, spread the word, give your unused frequent flier miles, help the Make-A-Wish Foundation bridge the gap. Learn how at wish.org.

April 29 marked 30 years since the wish of Chris to become a police officer came true. The Make-A-Wish Foundation is currently granting wishes for special kids with life-threatening medical conditions in 37 countries.
