Recognition Programs
Wishmakers® | Wishpartners | Mission Maker | Inner Circle | Wish Circle
The Make-A-Wish Foundation® has several recognition programs that help raise the funds needed for wishes, administration costs and the endowment. Wishmaker and Wishpartner contributions fund wishes and are never used for other Foundation services or for administration purposes. Inner Circle contributions fund the Foundation's operating expenses and help defray the costs of running the office. Contributions to the Wish Circle fund wishes and administration, as well as the endowment, which has been created to insure a stable future for the Foundation. Donations can also be unrestricted, in which case the Foundation will use the contribution where it is most needed. Following is additional information on each of these programs.
Wishmakers®
Program Overview
Wishmakers are individuals, companies, schools or organizations that underwrite the cost of one or more wishes at an average cost of $3,400. This cost is based on our most popular wish, a trip to Disney World. One hundred percent of Wishmaker donations are used toward the expenses of one or more wishes. Wishmakers receive a complete description of the wish they have funded.
Recognition
Every contribution to the Make-A-Wish Foundation is acknowledged with a personal thank-you letter. In addition, all Wishmaker donations are listed in an issue of our newsletter, on the website donor list, and in our annual report. Wishmakers are presented with a Wishmaker Award plaque designed by one of our wish children. In addition, Wishmakers are invited to participate in our annual radio fund raising campaign, "Light Up A Child's Life," held each December.
Wishpartners
Program Overview
Wishpartners are individuals, companies, schools or organizations that contribute to part of the cost of a wish. A minimum donation of $500 is required to become a Wishpartner. These contributions are then pooled with those of other Wishpartners until they reach $3,400, enough to completely fund a wish. Wishpartners also receive a complete description of the wish they have helped sponsor.
Recognition
Again, a personal thank-you letter acknowledges every contribution to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and are presented with a certificate designed by one of our wish children. In addition, at present, all donations of $500 or more are listed on our website donor list and in our annual report.
Mission Maker
Program Overview
Mission Makers are individuals, companies, schools or organizations whose donations exceed the cost of a wish ($3,400) and choose to direct the excess funds to underwrite general operating expenses. Mission Makers receive a complete description of the wish they have funded.
Recognition
Every contribution to the Make-A-Wish Foundation is acknowledged with a personal thank-you letter. In addition, all Mission Maker donations are listed in an issue of our newsletter , on our website donor list, and in our annual report. Inner Circle
Program Overview
The Inner Circle was created for donors, including individuals, corporations and foundations, who are willing to insure the financial stability of the entire Make-A-Wish Foundation. Donors who give $5,000 or more toward the Foundation's operating budget are given membership in the Inner Circle. Contributions below the $5,000 level are welcomed as Inner Circle partners, a category similar to Wishpartners. Inner Circle partners receive some, but not all of the recognition available to Inner Circle members.
Recognition
Inner Circle donations are also acknowledged with a personal thank-you letter. In addition, all Inner Circle contributions are listed in an issue of our newsletter, on our website donor list, and in our annual report.
