Kendall looks over all the hard work that went into arranging the books and smiles with pride knowing that she will be assisting the Make-A-Wish Foundation in granting wishes with the procEeds raised from this great fundraiser. Wish kid Travis, 15, attended the golf outing with his mom, Amy, and spoke about his wish to go to Hawaii. Wish kid Emma waits for the first runner to cross the finish line at the Coopersburg 5K. Emma, now 9 years old, was granted her wish for a trip to Walt Disney World in 2004. Under the direction of their teacher, Nicole Wukitch, students helped organize the fundraiser from start to finish by creating advertisements, finding supplies, contacting local flower shops and finally selling the flowers during an Open House at each school. Many local flower shops offered a discount or donated flowers for the event. The carnation booth at the school's Open House is pictured here. Make-A-Wish Vice President of Communications and Director of Operations Ann Hohn interviewed West Mifflin Middle School students Alex and Marissa about how they raised funds during their Turkey Bowl football game. The school was able to raise over $800.
